The ideal candidate will lead a cross-functional engineering squad, combining a modern React frontend with a Java/Spring Boot microservices backend, while driving engineering best practices throughout the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define solution architecture, coding standards, and DevOps strategy.
  • Lead design and code reviews and mentor engineers.
  • Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, and design patterns.
  • Build responsive and accessible UIs using React JS, Hooks, Context, TypeScript, and Redux.
  • Develop scalable APIs and event-driven services using Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.
  • Implement authentication, role-based access control, and rate limiting.
  • Own sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and release demos.
  • Partner with Product, UX, and QA teams to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Track development work in Jira and ensure stories meet Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
  • Champion test automation using JUnit, Jest, and Cypress.
  • Implement observability using OpenTelemetry and Grafana.
  • Conduct profiling, performance tuning, and load testing to maintain sub-200ms latency.
  • Enforce secure coding practices and conduct regular vulnerability scans.
  • Collaborate with Treasury/Payments SMEs to model business flows.
  • Present architecture, technical decisions, and project progress to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Work with DevSecOps to maintain CI/CD pipelines, blue-green deployments, and rollback strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of technical lead or team lead experience.
  • Expert-level experience with React JS.
  • Strong experience with HTML5, CSS-in-JS, responsive design, and browser developer tools.
  • Strong Java 11+ development experience, preferably Java 17.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, REST APIs, and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Git, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, leadership, and Agile/Scrum skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Docker and Kubernetes.
  • SQL/NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Caching technologies such as Redis.
  • API gateways including Kong, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway.
  • OpenAPI/Swagger.

  • Event streaming with Kafka/Amazon MSK.
  • Reactive programming.
  • Experience in Treasury, Payments, FinTech, or FinTech compliance environments.
