Ansible Automation Platform Consultant
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Ansible Automation Platform Senior Consultant to lead enterprise automation initiatives across multiple environments.
The successful candidate will have deep expertise in Ansible, Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes.
This is a senior/principal-level position where the consultant will act as the primary automation architect and technical authority, designing enterprise automation strategies, implementing automation frameworks, and guiding modernization and orchestration initiatives.
The role requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to translate business objectives into practical automation architectures with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise automation architecture and strategy.
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade automation frameworks.
- Architect, install, configure, and administer Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
- Develop Ansible automation for Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.
- Work with Automation Controller, Execution Environments, and Automation Hub.
- Support Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes-based environments.
- Lead automation modernization and orchestration initiatives.
- Collaborate with SRE, Platform, Engineering, and stakeholder teams.
- Translate business objectives into actionable automation solutions.
- Lead technical architecture discussions and provide technical direction.
- Establish automation standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.
- Troubleshoot complex automation and infrastructure issues.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
- Work independently with minimal oversight.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of professional IT experience.
- 5+ years of Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform experience.
- 3+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience.
- Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise automation solutions.
- Strong experience with Ansible automation across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.
- Experience with AAP design, installation, and administration.
- Experience with Automation Controller, Execution Environments, and Automation Hub.
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to lead discussions with SRE, Platform, Engineering, and stakeholder teams.
- Ability to work independently in a high-autonomy environment.
Required Certifications
Candidates must hold at least one Red Hat certification.
Preferred certifications include:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
- Red Hat certification related to Ansible Automation Platform
- Other relevant Red Hat certifications
Certification must be verifiable through Red Hat's certification verification system.

Position Details

Location: Remote
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Rate: $65–$70/hr W2
