We are seeking an experienced NoSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, Ansible automation, and Oracle Linux Automation Manager (OLAM). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering and automating NoSQL database platforms in Linux VM and Kubernetes environments.

The current environment primarily utilizes Neo4j and StarDog, so candidates with strong experience in these technologies are highly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with NoSQL database administration

    • Neo4j

    • Cassandra
    • Elasticsearch
    • SingleStore
  • Strong Linux administration experience
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience
  • Strong Ansible automation experience
  • Experience with Oracle Linux Automation Manager (OLAM)
  • OLAM/Ansible playbook development
  • NoSQL database deployment and cluster administration
  • Production and non-production database environment support
  • Database troubleshooting, break-fix, upgrades, migrations, configuration, and patching
  • Database performance tuning and optimization
  • High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Backup/Recovery

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day DBA administration, support, and maintenance for NoSQL databases running on Linux VMs and Kubernetes.
  • Design, build, configure, and maintain fully functional NoSQL database clusters.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible automation and OLAM playbooks for database provisioning, installation, upgrades, patching, and administration.
  • Support production and non-production environments.
  • Troubleshoot database and platform issues and perform break-fix activities.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, migrations, and capacity expansions.
  • Perform database debugging, tuning, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor database health, availability, replication, and resource utilization.
  • Support High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Backup/Recovery solutions.
  • Manage database connectivity, security, access, and roles.
  • Work with technical and cross-functional teams to resolve complex platform issues.
  • Utilize AI-native development practices, including Devin, for Spec Driven Development (SDD) related to NoSQL platform automation and development.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent technical/work experience.
  • Typically 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 8+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering NoSQL databases on Linux VM and Kubernetes.
  • Strong Ansible automation and OLAM playbook development experience.
  • Experience with NoSQL cluster management, replication, and multi-data-center configurations.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, capacity planning, and compaction strategies.
  • Experience with database backup/recovery, connectivity, security, and role management.
  • Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ansible Automation certification/development experience
  • DataStax Cassandra certification
  • Elasticsearch certification
  • Neo4j certification
  • Experience with Neo4j and StarDog is highly preferred.
  • Experience using Devin or similar AI-powered software engineering tools for Spec Driven Development.
