Job Summary
Seeking an Exterior Mechanism Engineer with automotive experience in designing and developing exterior mechanisms and actuators. Strong knowledge of CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE, GD&T, DFM, and mechatronic systems is preferred.
Job Description
• Design and develop automotive exterior mechanisms in a Design Release Engineer (DRE) role.
• Develop actuators and motors for systems such as chargeport doors, exterior mirrors, tonneau covers, and automated glazing systems.
• Define mechatronic requirements and collaborate with software and electrical teams on motor controls, sensors, and diagnostics.
• Use CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE for 3D design, integration, and optimization.
• Collaborate with studio teams to develop engineering sections and high-quality A-surfaces while meeting DFM requirements.
• Develop, prototype, and industrialize vehicle mechanisms and actuator systems.
• Create 2D engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Drive continuous improvement in mechanism kinematics and NVH performance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience with automotive exterior mechanisms, actuators, or mechatronic systems.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFM, mechanism design, and NVH.
